The practice is aware of the concerns that many of our patients have about not being able to see a GP. We are currently operating a triage system to allow not only the staff within the practice to remain safe during the pandemic but also our patients. As a result, all clinicians are working extremely hard to triage all the calls we receive on a daily basis and if required they will organise a face to face appointment at a safe and convenient time. This is to help us minimise the number of patients that we have within the waiting area at any one time. We do appreciate that this can be frustrating for many but please bear with us as we try to navigate through these difficult times to keep both staff and patients safe at all times.
As we move through the pandemic, we would like to ask for your continued support in the changes that have been made. All staff within the practice work hard to provide an excellent service to our patients. Unfortunately, we are receiving an increasing amount of abuse over the phone and in person. At Rothes Medical Practice, we operate a Zero Tolerance policy. As a result any patient, relative or member of the public who uses threatening or abusive behaviour in person or by telephone, may be removed from the practice list.
Please note that the Practice will be CLOSED on Wednesday 23rd June between 12.30pm and 4pm
Covid-19 cases are currently increasing within Fife. We would like to remind our patients that you should only enter the Practice if you have a booked appointment.
All other enquiries and prescription requests MUST be made by telephone.
GP Appointments during COVID-19
If you require an appointment with a GP during this time, you will be required to have a telephone consultation with either one of our Advanced Nurse Practioners or a GP first of all although we cannot give a specific time. If during this consultation the clinician feels that it is necessary for you to be seen, you will be invited to the practice. A video consultation may also be available in order to help keep the number of patients in the practice at a minimum. If a video appointment has been arranged for yourself then please use the link below.
Please do not use the above link unless invited to do so.
If you are invited to attend a face to face appointment at the practice then please:
Wear a face covering
Do not arrive too early to your appointment as you may be asked to wait outside (please arrange your appointment to suit bus times if necessary)
Come to your appointment alone if possible
Use the hand sanitizer provided at the entrance of the practice and in the waiting areas
Please watch the following short clip about COVID-19 and General Practice
During this time we are asking everyone that visits the surgery for an appointment to wear a face covering. This INCLUDES non-medical masks and scarves.
NHS Test and Protect
The Test and Protect approach has been introduced in Scotland in order to try and identify cases of COVID-19 through testing. It allows the tracing of anyone who may be at risk of COVID-19 after spending time with someone who has tested positive.
